FAQS PAYING TUITION AND FEES

Does WSU have a payment plan?

Yes, for the first time Fall 2022, we now have the WSU Payment Plan option. The link will not be available until August 16th. You will be able to access this to enroll via your Student Payment center. Please refer to our dedicated section on our website for more information and FAQs. Also, for those that choose not to opt for the WSU Payment Plan, tuition is due the first day of class but no late fees are assessed until the 18th calendar day of the academic term.

  • If paying your account online, WSU accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. There is a 2.95% nonrefundable service fee to use a credit card. E-Checks are also accepted online and there is no service fee for that method of payment.
  • If making payment in person at the Bursar’s Office, checks or cash are accepted.
  • If mailing in a payment, WSU accepts personal checks, money orders and cashier checks. Payment can be mailed to:

WSU Bursar’s Office
PO Box 641039
Pullman, WA 99164-1039
Also please include the name and ID number of the student as well as what you are paying for.

The debit card will be treated like a credit card. The 2.95% service fee will be charged. However, as the debit card is connected to a bank account, you can avoid the service fee by paying with an e-check instead. If you select the e-check payment option, the payment site will ask for your routing number and account number which may be obtained from your paper checks or by contacting your financial institution.

One transaction is for the 2.75% nonrefundable service fee paid to OPC, WSU’s payment servicer. The other transaction is the amount paid to WSU.

WSU websites adhere to payment card and banking industry standards. E‐Checks comply with NACHA standards. Official Payments is the trusted payment services partner of the United States Internal Revenue Service, 25 state governments, the District of Columbia, more than 2,500 local and municipal government agencies, more than 400 colleges and universities, and other public and private interests in all 50 states. OPC secures your personal information entered into their Web site through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption, which creates a protected connection between users and the web server. This means your card number and personal data are never sent over the Internet unencrypted. Official Payments uses the best encryption technology available. Card information is not passed to WSU and payment data is passed using hardware encryption. Transactions are processed using a leased line connection to the card issuers. Official Payments partners with VeriSign to ensure the highest level of security.

Your payment will appear on your account within 1 minute of the payment being made. If it doesn’t, please contact the Bursar’s Office at (509) 335-9711.

International based credit cards are accepted for online payments. WSU has also partnered with TransferMate and with Flywire to make payment from overseas easier.  Please go to /internationalstudpay.html for information on paying through TransferMate and Flywire.

Paper bills are not mailed to enrolled students. Students are required to check their account periodically through their Student Services Center in myWSU to see if there is an outstanding balance.

If the overpayment on your account is from a credit card payment, the refund will be applied back onto your credit card. No part of the service fee will be refunded. If the overpayment is from a check or cash payment, a refund will be sent by check to your local mailing address or by direct deposit to your checking account that you have set up through myWSU. Direct deposit is highly recommended as it is the safest and quickest way to receive a refund.

Access the GET website to request the funds. WSU will receive notification of the request and act accordingly. The GET website address is www.get.wa.gov.

A purchase order from your company or a letter on letterhead stating your name, student ID number or last 4 digits of your SSN, the dollar amount they will pay, a description of what they are paying as well as an address to bill them at is required.
